The African Diaspora Conversation Series is a sequence of lunch hour lectures/discussions hosted by the African and African American Studies program in Area Studies. The goal of these events is to create an engaging forum for faculty members, staff, as well as students. All in the GVSU community have the opportunity to showcase their scholarship and/or interest in so far as it is connected to the African Diaspora. In such a forum, students, too, join in scholarly discussions. Moreover, they get to see and engage in aspects of academia in which their professors participate outside of the classroom. As a part of ScholarWorks@GVSU, participants in the ADC series share their work, some of which continues as work-in-progress.
