Editor-in-Chief -Zeke

Hello! My name is Zeke and I am a senior at GVSU majoring in history and minoring in German. In addition to being the Editor-in-Chief for the Grand Valley Journal of History, I am also a delivery driver at Jimmy John’s. When I’m not busy with delivery driving, helping run the journal or other classwork, I enjoy getting active in intramural sports and playing video games. I wanted to be a part of the History Journal to get a better understanding of the field of public history.

Editor - Alexandra

Hi, I'm Alexandra and I am a senior majoring in anthropology and minoring in history and German. I am the president of the GVSU German Club and I also work for the Veterans History Project. In my free time I enjoy ice skating and playing video games. I wanted to be a part of this journal because I enjoy writing and editing, and it is a great way to get more experience in those fields.

Editor - Maddie

Hey! I’m Maddie and I’m a junior writing major in the Honors College here at GVSU. Along with being the Assistant Editor for the History Journal, I work as a Lead Consultant at the Fred Meijer Center for Writing and Michigan Authors, I am the Assistant Editor for InWriting – the GVSU writing department’s newsletter – and I serve as a section leader in the Laker Marching Band. In my spare time, you can find me writing stories or going on random adventures with my friends. I wanted to be a part of this journal because I want to expand my horizons in any way I can during the rest of my college career.

General Secretary - Denis

Hey! I’m Denis and I’m a senior history major here at GVSU. Along with being the General Secretary for the History Journal, I work as the dough boy for Arnies Bakery Company. I am also involved in Politics and I am hoping to get more people involved in the political process of our country here at GVSU. I only have one semester of history classes and then one more semester of electives before I get my degree. I want to work as either a real estate agent, marketing and sales analyst, or as a politician upon my graduation from GVSU. I am also thinking of pursuing my post-graduate career studies and possibly getting my masters or doctorate depending on the situation that presents itself. In my spare time, you can find me exploring the beauty of Pure Michigan along with playing competitive soccer and tennis in my free time. I wanted to be a part of this History Journal to better develop my writing skills.
