Abstract
This paper, including the heady set of classroom exercises, reviews orders of intentionality and some of the inter-subjective confusions that can occur because we often need to incorporate others views of our views of their views of us. Largely by adapting and reconfiguring the Interpersonal Perception Method (IPM), a couples-therapy questionnaire developed by Laing, Phillipson, & Lee, the paper clarifies how and why interpretation troubles seem to recur, but it also provides a highly practical and directly teachable method for systematically managing multiple order of intensionality, and, hopefully, for minimizing some of lifes interpersonal strife.
