Author Biographies

Kathleen Deakin is an Associate Professor of English at Metropolitan State University of Denver. A former National Board Certified teacher, she now works with pre-service English Language Arts teachers.

Gloria Eastman is a Full Professor of English at Metropolitan State University of Denver. After three decades of teaching high school, she now teaches literature and methods to pre-sevice English Language Arts teachers.

Abstract

The authors advocate for the use of text sets to initiate conversations about anxiety and depression in the Secondary classroom.
