Description
On the evening of 14 July 2016, a cargo truck purposefully drove into a crowd of people gathered for Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France. Almost 500 people were injured and 86 people lost their lives. I visited Le Promenade des Anglais one month after these attacks. Mourning shrines led up the boardwalk to a gazebo covered in memorabilia gathered there as a result of the bloodshed in that public and popular place. France has experienced a lot of terror in the last five years and being able to pay homage to the innocent lives caught in the crossfire of larger disputes was something I will never forget.
