Abstract

An appropriate compensation package (salaries, wages, and benefits) is key to the success of any organization. Since compensation is often the largest expenditure for nonprofit organizations, it is important for it to be relevant and prudent as well as competitive.

The information in the salary survey is presented with the hope that it will assist directors and board members in developing compensation plans that will result in successful recruitment and retention of employees.

Our thanks are extended to the 119 West Michigan nonprofit organizations that contributed salary data to make this report possible. The report contains information on salaries for 66 job titles, education and experience required, benefits, various forms of paid time off, and executive demographics and compensation. The West Michigan area includes Allegan, Kent, Muskegon, and Ottawa counties.
