Description

The purpose of this book is to document the contributions of contemporary leaders of the public relations profession. While there is no guarantee their actions will have a great impact on the future of the profession, there are certainly indicators of such. The people chosen for inclusion in this publication have been recognized in some way by the profession. Most are members of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and have received awards or special designations by some professional organization.

This book serves as a reader for practitioners and students of the public relations profession. Its research base can also provide a foundation and resource for those who may wish to write a complete biography in the future on any of the individuals included in this text. This book is different in that it is a collection of biographical sketches of people chosen specifically for their leadership and contribution to the profession. It was researched and written by graduate students in the School of Communications at Grand Valley State University in the 2004-2005 academic year
