Abstract

The Tesseract OCR Automated Scheduler exists to provide a quick way for users, particularly those in shift work, to easily transfer photos of schedules from restricted calendar applications in the workplace or printouts and synchronize those schedules to the cloud based calendar of Google Calendar. Doing this gives users the freedom to easily access their calendars on any device, generates reminders when an upcoming event occurs, and helps users avoid the inconvenience of accidentally misinterpreting a time or date that they read as the program attempts to insure accuracy of the information being inputted programmatically.

The program is currently capable of generating events based on images that are interpreted using the Tesseract OCR API and functions using the Swift coding language operating in an iOS environment with additional room to grow in the development of event reminders and more effective ways of increasing Tesseract’s reading reliability.
