Abstract
Students' experiences in learning database programs in the management information systems courses at the college level are increasing their awareness of the power of using databases for their careers. Students know the power of using databases to store and retrieve information quickly. Providing database training at the college level in business courses provides students with the tools for collecting, sorting, and retrieving data for business efficiency. Applying the software tools of DbSchema and SAP Hana, students have the experience of working with real-time data information. While the construct of using databases by adult learners in business courses is still open for debate, students have found powerful learning experiences using database tools that help them broaden their knowledge entering the job market. Likewise, employers value students who have this experience. This literature review using databases in higher education helps examine education and library science articles. It summarizes the value of database tools for learning in a hybrid learning classroom.
