Abstract
Coal is one of the most common forms of energy in the world. In this hands-on session we will estimate and describe: How Much of This Natural Resource Do You Use? What Do We Use Coal for in the United States? How Much Coal Do You Consume in One Day Based on Electricity Use? How Much Coal Does the Average American Consume? Visualizing the Volume How Does Coal Form & Where Does it Come From? What is released into the Atmosphere When Coal is Burned? Estimating Mercury Estimations? Each concept is designed to be shared with middle and high schools students.
