Abstract
I have been invited to be an international artist-in-residence at The Maihar Art Retreat in Maihar, India. The program will be 2 weeks in duration, providing both time and space for me to pursue a self-directed creative study. As a resident artist, I will create a new body of work while sharing ideas and concepts within a supportive learning environment where relationships are mutually reinforcing. I will also have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with other international artists and the local community. At the culmination of my residency, an exhibition of my work will be held at The Gallery Sanskriti in India. I intend to broaden the Ceramics curriculum based on research gathered during my residency regarding not only traditional but also contemporary Indian ceramic art. I also plan to give a presentation of my creative study and studio practice during the residency at The Maihar Art Retreat in Maihar, India.
