Abstract
Research has shown that kindergarten is an important year in the acquisition of key skills and knowledge that are required for students to have academic success during their formal schooling career. It is equally important for students to come to kindergarten with certain behavioral and social skills, yet this is not always the case for many students. One of the reasons for this is that parents are unaware of the knowledge and skills that are required prior to kindergarten transition. The aim of this project is to provide both parents and educators with a resource that will bring about collaborative efforts between families and schools to help children make a smooth transition to kindergarten even if they do not come from a traditional preschool setting.
