Abstract
Abstract
Students in special education often do not receive equal access to social emotional learning programs. It is a school counselor’s responsibility to provide services to all students, including those in special education. Sometimes these students are not present when lessons are delivered to general education classes, or are not targeted specifically. Certain topics and teaching methods can be more effective for students with learning disabilities or other students in special education. By delivering lessons to general education classes while special education students are present, access can be improved. Assessment and additional remediation opportunities can be provided to these students to ensure they will benefit.
