Location

Hager-Lubbers Exhibition Hall

Description

PURPOSE: This poster presents a systematic review on the differential effects of a tier-2 intervention, Check-in/Check-out. More specifically, this poster will present differential effects based on a student’s reported function of behavior. PROCEDURES: Searches of the database Psych Info were conducted and studies were selected based on specific criteria. Each study was examined by looking at participant characteristics, functional behavior assessment information as well as the effect size was recorded. OUTCOME: The effect sizes were calculated based on the reported function of the students’ behavior. Effect sizes were higher for students whose behavior was maintained by attention rather than escape. IMPACT: Schools should consider incorporating a comprehensive functional behavior assessment to guide development of intervention.
