Abstract
Featured in this manuscript are 10 Holiday songs in lead sheet form. Each song has lyrics for the players and audience to sing along to. A left-hand accompaniment is paired with each song, which focuses on a different aspect of jazz piano playing. The accompaniments include sample bass lines, introductory left-hand voicings, chord shapes, and rhythm patterns. Pedagogically, this manuscript serves a wide range of playing levels. First, the accompaniments are great for young and beginning jazz pianists, who are learning how to add flavor to their right-hand melodies. Secondly, the lead sheets on their own offer a great supplement to intermediate and advanced pianists who are comfortable improvising, playing solo, or playing in small jazz combos.
