Abstract
Background: The study explores homestay tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting its role in fostering sustainable economic growth and enhancing community well-being amidst political uncertainties and natural adversities.
Objectives: To bridge the knowledge gap in academic literature concerning the economic, social, and environmental impacts of homestay tourism in this region.
Methodology: This research employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data analysis with qualitative interviews and case studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the impacts of homestay tourism.
Findings: The findings indicate significant economic benefits for local communities, enhanced cultural exchange and social cohesion, and a sustainable approach to tourism that respects local culture and conserves the environment.
Conclusion: This study contributes new insights into the field of tourism research, particularly within the understudied area of homestay tourism in Jammu and Kashmir. By examining the economic, social, and environmental impacts of homestay tourism, the research not only fills a significant gap in the existing academic literature but also offers practical implications for sustainable tourism development.
