Teaching English at a Local School in Siem Reap
I was wandering on the streets of Siem Reap, well-known for being a base to visit the Angkor temples, trying to get a glimpse of local life. I suddenly saw a school and a sign saying tourists are welcome to help teachers and kids with English pronunciation. I entered to have a chat with a teacher, and a day later I found myself giving a 'class' there.

More of a chat with the kids, really, rather than teaching, as they were beginners, and so was I. But the interaction and the warmth were incredible. I would not hesitate doing it again.

The Blessing of the Lotus
At the entrance of this very important temple for the Thai people, there is a basin with water and lotus flowers next to it with which people would bless themselves, by immersing the lotus flower in the water and then touching their head with it. It was pure joy watching their different reactions, and particularly the children's! I spent quite a long time rejoicing in their pleasure...
