Description
Kent District Library has, for several years, provided branch-specific iPads for staff use. After reviewing usage of the tablets, however, it was discovered that because iPads are so user-specific, having one or two per branch was not sufficient for staff to develop true fluency in the technology. As a result, Kent District Library is currently in the process of purchasing iPads for all of their information staff. This project will provide all 136 employees with their own individual iPad or iPad mini. They are welcome to not just use the tablet at work, but to take it home and truly customize it as their own device.
In this presentation, we will discuss the numerous benefits assigned staff iPads will provide to library staff, as well as the obstacles facing the library as we begin to implement this project. We’ll also give examples of how you can incorporate 1:1 tablets into your own staff setting!
