Abstract
At this conference, I will give the world premier performance (presentation) of Victor Marquez's Sonata for tenor saxophone and piano, which I commissioned for this prestigious conference. This piece combines Latin American popular music with contemporary classical saxophone techniques and is the result of a collaborative process between performer and composer. Additionally, I will premier Jeu D'Esprit, for two soprano saxophones by Augusta Reed Thomas with Assistant Professor of Saxophone at Oklahoma State University, Dr. Jeffrey Loeffert.
