Abstract

Excessive absences may impede students’ academic success. When students have excessive absences, their learning can be halted, show regression and/or become impaired due to lack of time and instruction within the classroom. It can be difficult for students to apply previously learned material upon returning to the classroom. There are a variety of consequences such as, lack of student motivation, dropping out of school, poor academic outcomes, and various others. Teachers need an effective classroom structure that encourages student autonomy while allowing teachers to put their focus on daily lessons. This project provides a solution by creating an online learning tool for students to get instruction without the need for their teachers’ full attention.
