Abstract
The purpose of this assignment is to not only full develop a topic for research, but to get comfortable in the process. Students start by working individually to develop subtopics and areas of interest from their original topic or research question. They then work in groups to help students continue to develop their ideas more completely. It is oftentimes easier to engage with a topic when it is not your own and there is less pressure. I was hoping to show students how easy it was to do this for others, and that it could be just as easy to do it for themselves if they are able to remove the pressure.
