Author Biographies

Dai’Jon Campbell, known as DJ, is poetically known as DJThaPhloet. Phloet being defined as a poetic prophet that flows. A Detroit native, born and raised, Dai’jon grew up mostly on the “North End” of Detroit. He describes himself as an angry child, for reasons that can be found in his poetry. This caused him to be expelled from school on 4 different occasions throughout his K-12 experience. Despite these experiences, Dai’Jon graduated from THEE Martin Luther King Jr-Sr High School in 2021 with a 3.6 grade point average, member of the National Honor Society, and a Midnight Golf alum. He speaks on his school experience because it was vital in shaping who he is today. Currently Dai’Jon is the Special Assistant to Dr. Curtis Lewis, President and Founder of Boldly Moving Education Ahead. His goal is to help students/children recognize the strength their voices carry, encouraging them to see their opinions matter and feelings are valid. His current focus is the children, but his message is for everyone. He wants to be known as the person/man who SEES: sees the good in people who can’t see it in themselves, sees the world for what it is but fights to see change in it, and sees love in everything and everyone.
