Author Bio

In addition to his current Book.list column "Carte Blanche," Michael Cart has written more than 200 articles and reviews for such prestigious publications as The New York Times, School Library Journal, and The Lion and the Unicorn. His books include From Romance to Realism: 50 Years of Growth and Change in Young Adult Literature and What's So Funny? Wit and Humor in American Children's Literature. His young adult novel My Father's Scar has been selected as an ALA Best Book for Young Adults 1997. Mr. Cart is past president of Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) and has served on both the Caldecott and Notable Books committees.
