Nancy L. Douglas is an assistant professor of reading and language arts at the
University of Michigan-Dearborn. Dr. Douglas specializes in adolescent reading
and critical literacy. She has experience teaching grades 2-9 as well as teaching
undergraduate and graduate level classes in reading, writing, and educational
methods. Currently, she teaches undergraduate and graduate level reading courses
and oversees the Reading Specialist Endorsement Program at the University of
Michigan-Dearborn.
Martha A. Adler, Ph.D. is an assistant professor in reading and language arts and
the co-director of the ESL Endorsement Program at the University of MichiganDearborn.
Her research interests are in teacher education, "beat the odds" schools,
and early literacy.
