Ruth H. Freeman is professor and coordinator of
literacy education in the College of Education at
Madonna University in Livonia. She spent many years
as a classroom teacher and reading specialist in the
Royal Oak Public Schools. She holds B.A. and M.A.
degrees from the University of Michigan and M.A. T.
and Ph.D. degrees from Oakland University.
