Leah van Belle is an associate professor in teacher education at
Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan. She has served as a member
of the Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Award Committee, the
Coretta Scott King Book Award Committee, and the Ethnic and Multicultural
Information Exchange Roundtable of the American Library
Association. Her educational consulting and research are related to
literacy, curriculum, diversity, and children,s texts.
