Tanya Christ is an associate professor in the Department
of Reading and Language Arts at Oakland
University. She teaches courses related to reading assessment
and instruction practices for K-12. Her research
focuses on emergent literacy, digital literacy,
assessment practices, and teacher education. She has
previously taught preschool, elementary school, and
in reading clinics. She can be reached by email at

Ron Cramer is Distinguished Professor of Education
in the Department of Reading and Language Arts
at Oakland University. He teaches courses related to
language arts, writing, poetry, and reading assessment.
His research and publications have focused on
writing, language arts, spelling, and clinical instruction.
He has previously served as an elementary
school teacher, reading consultant, and director of
reading clinics for struggling readers.
