Pat Gallant is a research professor and K-2 literacy consultant for the Vermont Reads Institute at the Universi-ty of Vermont. Prior to that, she worked as an associate professor of education at The Universi-ty of Michigan-Flint and has served as president of MRA (2009-2010) and co-editor of the MR]

Kathy Highfield is a literacy specialist in the Holly Area Schools. Kathy is also an adjunct professor at The Universiry of Michigan-Flint. She earned her doctorate from Oakland Universiry in 2003 and continues to support K-12 teachers in improving literacy instruction and student achievement.
