S. Rebecca Leigh is an associate professor in reading and language arts at Oakland University. Her
research interests include multiple ways of knowing, writing, and teacher education. Her current research
examines how access to art serves as a pathway to literacy learning and its impact on students as writers.
Linda Ayres is a literacy consultant and former adjunct assistant professor in reading and language arts
at Oakland University. Her primary interests include literacy acquisition, instruction, and assessment.
