Joanne LeBlanc is the Reading Recovery Coordinator
for Instruction at the Genesee Intermediate School
District in Flint, Michigan. Other interests include
early literacy with a focus on teaching struggling learners
and supporting teachers as learners. She is a Ph.D.
student in Reading and Language Arts in the School of
Education at Oakland University.
Melissa Wing is the K-12 English and Language Arts
Coordinator for Instruction at the Genesee Intermediate
School District in Flint, Michigan. She is a former
Reading Recovery teacher and she continues to use the
foundational learning when teaching struggling learners.
Other interests include formative assessment and
balanced literacy.
