Dr. Kristine M. Schutz is an associate professor in Curriculum and Instruction and the director of the Collaboratory for Literacies and Learning at the University of Illinois Chicago. She conducts research on literacy teacher education that supports future elementary teachers in engaging in humanizing literacy teaching that supports children in comprehending and composing complex texts. She is the co-author of the book Teaching Climate Change to Children: Literacy Pedagogy that Cultivates Sustainable Futures (Teachers College Press, 2024).
Dr. Rebecca Woodard is an Associate Professor of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Illinois Chicago. She is the faculty director of the Chicago Area Writing Project, a co-editor of the Language Arts journal for the National Council for Teachers of English (NCTE), and the co-author of Teaching Climate Change to Children: Literacy Pedagogy that Cultivates Sustainable Futures.
William Peek is a middle school humanities teacher at the Catherine Cook School in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a doctoral candidate in Literacy, Language, and Culture at the University of Illinois Chicago.
