Volume 5, Issue 1 (2015) Spotlight on Alumni
As Cinesthesia prepares to undergo the largest change in its editorial staff since the journal's founding in 2012, editors past and present take this opportunity to celebrate Cinesthesia alumni and the history of Grand Valley's film program. This special issue features articles by Cinesthesia alumni and current students alike.Past editors Joe Hogan and Travis Wheeler contribute to and serve as guest editors of this issue; alumnus Spencer Everhart and current GVSU student Hannah Lynch also contribute essays. Our featured interview with Barbara Roos, co-founder of Grand Valley's film program, sheds light on how cultural shifts throughout the decades shaped GVSU film students.
Articles in this issue cover a number of topics: Latin American cinema, technological and cultural transitions in cinema, as well as the relationship between the study of cinema and liberal education.
