Volume 7, Issue 1 (2017)
This issue of Cinesthesia explores the connection between various forms of media and how those forms effect society, especially the link between female representation - both in front of and behind the camera - and what effects that has on both the work itself and society as a whole. The authors in this issue examine such representations through classic and contemporary films, television series, and their creators. Some of the texts analyzed in this issue include Patty Jenkins’s Wonder Woman (2017), the works of early cinema director Alice Guy Blaché, Sean Baker's Tangerine (2015), and the world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
