Pamela Bachman is a former 1st-grade teacher. She
graduated from Western Washington University
with a bachelor’s degree in education, and then
earned her master’s degree in teaching from Saginaw
Valley State University, majoring in Early
Childhood Education. Before beginning her publicschool
teaching career, she home-schooled three children
for 10 years. She is currently working for a
non-profit organization, teaching transition subjects
to students receiving special education services. She
also trains professionals in assistive technology devices
to assist individuals with disabilities.
Kathy Kalmar recently retired from Saginaw Valley
State University. Dr. Kalmar was an educator for
40 years, working with parents, families, and young
children, preschool through graduate school, as well
as writing for teachers and parents. Dr. Kalmar
taught in Saginaw teacher education and in Anchor
Bay Public Schools. She earned her doctorate
at Oakland University.
